Q&A Time.

When did you start this project?

A: 2017 is when the idea started to spark. I started to theorize on the universe in 2019 when I started headed closer toward illustration as a direction. I drew my first panel at the beginning of Spring, 2020.

Why a comic?

A: I was starting to connect that I was making characters, giving them small stories, and essentially setting them down. I figured it was time to do something about that and to test whether sequential stories were something I wanted to delve into time and work-wise.

There was always the whole notion of 'Pixar? Disney?' because I feel like anyone that's into drawing characters and stories heads in that direction as a primary target for success. While that's a great goal in mind, I thought I would start my sights a bit more subtle with indie comics that'd allow me to train my brain for similar skills.

What tools did you use?

A: I started with a sketchbook to draft out each panel roughly, then took a scan or photo of that and tossed it into Procreate. I did touch-ups and text in Photoshop to finish.

Is Smidge a boy or a girl?

A: Whatever, you decide.

How do the porabs move if they don't have bones..?

A: I'm open to any and all theories on this. My only answer is... very slowly.

Will the comic ever be published physically?

A: That was the original goal, so it isn't out of my sights yet to get Volume 1 printed when it is finished. I could also keep going and further the ending to allow for a little more of a sneak peak into Volume 2. Decisions decisions...

Can I get a porab plushie?

A: I'm going to give this a hard maybe. I only have a limited supply that are pretty much accounted for on who they'll go to. It'll have to be a question later on down the road for the creator of those lovely little plush friends.

What's next after Capstone? After College?

A: I'll be moving to Cedar Rapids where my fiance is currently working and finding somewhere around that area. We'll be married in September, and my ultimate goal is to work somewhere I enjoy the people, but still come home with energy for freelance.
